the hatter

Johnny Depp had hes own personal makeup artist do his makeup for the movie. The makeup artist wanted to influence people to wear the makeup trends from the movie just not as harsh just bringing more color and blue eyeshadow in style again. The Mad Hatters clothing was inspired by back in the day when people had different chemical poisonings and not normal. The Mad Hatter was also supose to look like he had mercury poisoning. The makeup artist Patty York used purple eyeshadow on one eye and turquoise on the other eye with white eyeliner and mascara with red and pink below the eyes.

"Painting The Flowers" All Time Low

ooh alice

It may not have seemed like it but Alice had just as much makeup as everyone else did in the movie. She just had a more natural look to her. Throught the movie you can tell that there is more color to her then in the begining when she didnt enjoy her life and she was unhappy but the more time she was in Wonderland the more color came upon her face.

Pale..

The makeup artist used a special foundation used for movies called Il Maquillage Cream Stick #51. Its really white but has some yellow and pink tint in it so it wouldnt make the scenery look different. The same shade was used for every character in the movie.

The White Queen

Well the White Queen was extremely white and pale. Except for her lips. Her lips were a mixture color of red, brown, and black. The makeup artist wanted the White Queen to have some edge thought and didnt want her to be all white. She was inspired from The Adams Family series.

Strokes and strokes

It took almost two and a half hours for the makeup to be fully applied to the Red Queen. She had a fake forehead, the eyebrows were painted on, YSL blue eye shadow that has a stained glass look was applied, fake lashes to look like a doll, and to finish it off red Stila lipstick.

Makeup artist of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

Valli O’Reilly is the makeup artist of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. She had the hard job of having to recreate how the characters look. First of all it is a Tim Burton movie and all of his work is reconizable so she had to work that into what the characters look like. So Tim Burton had her watch old Bette Davis films for inspiration. For example the Red queen was inspired but Queen Elizabeth. She also go inspiration from Margaret Keane. She was inspired by how she had painted her eyes.
